Branorim
A bear-derived Ursine Beastfolk Lineage whose stable ancestry is established without assuming universal strength, hibernation, temperament, or intrinsic magic.
Known Biology
Branorim are bear-derived Ursine Beastfolk. Their Lineage is well established even though detailed morphology remains intentionally broad: the Archive does not treat exceptional size, supernatural strength, claws, hibernation, endurance, or a particular temperament as universal Branorim traits without direct evidence.
No intrinsic Branorim magic is presently established.
Wildfolk Power and Inheritance
A bear that survives for centuries, accumulates enormous Magic, and finally awakens may become a Branorim Wildfolk who is extraordinarily powerful by ordinary mortal standards. That does not make the same strength a Lineage trait. Descendants inherit the capacity for sapience and the Branorim architecture, not the centuries of accumulated power that made their ancestor unusual.
Branorim and Ursanthropy
A Branorim is not a werebear merely by being Branorim. Bear-derived ancestry is the individual's native inherited form. Ursanthropy is instead the scholarly term for a bear-aspected form of therianthropy: a supernatural condition that can affect a person of another ancestry without changing that ancestry.
A Human, Orelun, Branorim, or member of another people could therefore acquire ursanthropy while remaining what they were by ancestry. A Branorim who also carries ursanthropy possesses both an Ursine Lineage and a separate magical condition. Cures, transmission rules, lunar effects, silver vulnerabilities, or other traits eventually established for therianthropy do not automatically apply to ordinary Branorim.
