The Canid Kindred unites compatible canine- and wolf-derived Beastfolk architectures while preserving useful Branch distinctions between them.
One Kindred, Several Expressions
Canid Beastfolk share an inherited architecture broad enough to include distinct canine- and wolf-derived expressions while retaining ordinary reproductive compatibility. This is why the modern taxonomy treats Canine and Lupine as Branches rather than separate Kindreds.
Canid ancestry can shape scent, movement, social perception, threat awareness, and other instinctive priorities without making loyalty, obedience, aggression, pack behavior, or any specific social structure biologically mandatory.
Known Branches
The Canine Branch presently contains the Orelun Lineage. The Lupine Branch contains wolf-derived Beastfolk architecture, though the Archive presently recognizes no stable named Lupine Lineage. A Branch can therefore remain taxonomically useful even before a hereditary Lineage is documented beneath it.
