Nivreni

Form and Inheritance

Nivreni are furred Leporine Beastfolk with prominent expressive ears and bodies capable of very rapid movement. Individuals vary substantially in build: some are slight and compact, while others are longer-limbed and especially suited to sustained speed. Rabbit- and hare-like expressions remain variations within the same Lineage rather than automatically defining separate peoples.

No intrinsic Nivreni magic is presently established. Their inherited instincts can make abrupt movement, exposure, cover, escape routes, and environmental change unusually salient without prescribing personality or behavior.

Origins and Identity

The Nivreni are an ancient Lineage whose earliest history is intertwined with old divine traditions surrounding rabbits, but the precise mixture of divine guidance, early awakening, and later Wildfolk contribution is no longer treated as a simple genealogical question. A compatible rabbit- or hare-derived Wildfolk can be Nivreni without sharing a traceable family line with an ancient founder.

Religious traditions such as the Crowned Root belong to particular Nivreni communities and histories. They are not biological requirements of Nivreni ancestry.

Known Ascension Expressions

The Swift Ember → Ember Runner → Festival Marshal progression is a documented Nivreni Ascension line. Its members retain the Lineage's Leporine architecture while developing natural quickness, balance, endurance, and practiced control across increasingly demanding responsibilities.

These cards describe particular Exemplars and Ascension states rather than a universal Nivreni profession or culture. Running, courier work, and festival coordination belong to those individuals and institutions; they are not requirements of Nivreni ancestry.
