Simian Kindred

The Simian Kindred is the Archive's present classification for Beastfolk Lineages whose primate-derived inherited and metaphysical architecture is sufficiently compatible to belong to one Kindred. The term is a Beastfolk taxonomic category; it does not classify Humans. Human reproductive compatibility with other sapient peoples does not by itself make those peoples one ancestry or place Humans inside Beastfolk taxonomy. Simian Beastfolk may share creature-forward primate craniofacial structure, highly dexterous hands, and locomotor anatomy capable of substantial variation between Lineages. Tails, grasping feet, body-fur patterns, limb proportions, and modes of movement can differ and are not presumed universal to the Kindred. Real-world zoological resemblance alone is not enough to establish membership: any future monkey- or ape-derived Beastfolk population must still be compared against inherited, reproductive, and metaphysical architecture before it is placed here. The Maruven are the first presently established Simian Lineage. Their particular anatomy therefore provides evidence for the Kindred without defining every future Simian people.
