Ursine Kindred
The Ursine Kindred contains bear-derived Beastfolk architectures, presently represented by the Branorim Lineage and kept distinct from magical bear-transformation conditions.
Bear-Derived Beastfolk
Ursine Beastfolk arise from bear-derived awakening patterns. Size, strength, seasonal behavior, hibernation, claws, temperament, protectiveness, and solitude should not be assumed to be universal Kindred traits merely because particular bears display them.
Ursine ancestry is distinct from ursanthropy, the bear-aspected form of therianthropy. Ursanthropy is a magical condition that can transform a person of otherwise unrelated ancestry; it does not create Ursine ancestry. An Ursine Beastfolk may acquire the condition just as someone from another people can, but Lineage and condition remain separate classifications.
Known Lineages
The Branorim are the best-established Ursine Lineage. Other bear-derived architectures may eventually justify additional Lineages if their inherited forms remain distinct across generations.
