Velisai
A fox-derived Vulpine Beastfolk Lineage with an inherited, narrowly defined talent for producing convincing false manifestations of their own position or form.
Inherited Misdirection
Velisai share the broader Vulpine architecture but possess a stable intrinsic magical trait that distinguishes their Lineage. They can naturally produce convincing false manifestations of themselves, allowing attention to be drawn toward a false position or apparent duplicate while the real individual moves elsewhere.
This is a narrow inherited talent rather than unrestricted illusion magic. Velisai are not automatically invisible, capable of impersonating arbitrary people, able to rewrite memories, or able to fabricate entire environments. Learned Magic and later Ascension can develop the gift beyond its baseline expression, but those achievements belong to individuals.
Known Exemplars
Whisperstep and Grand Veilkeeper belong to a Velisai Ascension line. Their work in concealment makes unusually sophisticated use of the Lineage's inherited misdirection, but neither their profession nor the hidden-road institutions around them define Velisai culture as a whole.
